I've been running.
Ugh, no, I'm not naturally a runner. A couple of months ago, I decided I WILL BE A RUNNER. So that’s what I did. I ran. Terribly. The first time, I ran .3 miles and had to stop so I wouldn’t vomit. But the next day, I did it again. And SLOWLY, it got easier to run. Well, I’m running like a snail. But it counts.
Now don’t get me wrong. Running still isn’t a dream. But it’s so much easier than when I started. This morning? Ran 3.5 miles straight. Yes, it took me 45 whole minutes, but I DID IT! That’s the most I’ve ever run! A lot of people use Couchto5k and love it – it trains you safely and slowly for a 5k in 9 weeks.
To celebrate my running, I’m doing an amazing run called Color Me Rad 5k. It’s full of color, which I absolutely love. You get colored cornstarch thrown on you every 1/2 a mile or so. I will laugh the whole way. And take photos after! It’s a huge celebration of being able to even MOVE. The best part of this colorful race? It’s being held in Austin ON MY BIRTHDAY! December 8th.

Color Me Rad has been awesome and donated TWO free registrations for us to give away!! That means you can join Josiah and I for free if you’re in Austin or any close-to-Austin city like Dallas or Houston.
Please do join us, even if you don’t win a free registration! On the website, you can enter in a team to run with. Our team name is The Burlap Bag. Shocking and original name, I know. If you think you can’t run a 5k… just slowly start jogging. Or walking fast. And keep doing it. The race isn’t until December so you have more than 3 full months to get ready! Or just come out and walk it! I will running the speed of a snail. And we will all take colorful crazy pictures together afterwards.
i. want. to. be. in. that.
We have 5 different ways you can enter this giveaway for a free registration to the Color Me Rad 5k. And TWO of you will win a free registration! Please leave a SEPARATE comment for each entry… so if you do all 5, you should leave us 5 comments here! If you leave them all in one comment we will NOT count them as multiple… it gets too crazy with +100 comments!

I’ve liked y’all on facebook for a year already :)
Pinned this on Pinterest under Bucket List. Always wanted to do this but never could because I didn’t think I had the determination to… plus I never had enough money. (Sorry to pull the poor college student excuse! but it is true!!)
Longest I’ve ever run was probably less than 1/4 of a mile. Sad… I know.
no, 1/4 is AWESOME! keep it up erin! I know that races like this can be great goals and can cause the determination you need. you should come do it with me whether you win or not!!
I ran 26.2 miles. Grandma’s marathon. Someone told me I could NEVER do it. So. I. Did.
This looks like the coolest thing ever!!! I’m going to schedule my next USA holiday around doing one of these!!!

I ran 1 whole mile straight the other day. It was the longest, and 3.5 miles seems like a long ways away.
I’m already on your newsletter list.
I left a comment on the egg yolk post. My comment is that I couldn’t get the video to work. :(
I refuse to tell anyone about this giveaway. Duh, the more people that know about it, the less likely I am to win, and I want to win.
This looks like the funnest thing ever and they are coming to AUSTRALIA!!! I can’t wait until it’s on, def going to do it, thanks for letting us know about it and such a great goal for you to complete. Good luck.
p.s. I’m not a runner either but I keep doing it slowly slowly just hoping one day to think to myself, I really enjoy this, i’m counting on that happening

#5 not really a runner. The longest/furthest I’ve run is when I played soccer as a kid, running up and down the field. Now I just sprint after my 3 yr old!
The farthest I’ve ever run was about a 1/10th of a mile on a treadmill hooked up to wires at the doctor’s office. One of the worst experiences of my life!
I’m recovering from some extensive physical injuries / surgeries.
Hoping I will have the courage to at least walk the Color Run.

#3. I’ve already liked you guys on Facebook!
Sorry, last one I meant #4 for that last one. Also, the furthest I’ve run is 5k. I just haven’t done it for a race. I wanted to see if I could so I started training last year and had hoped to enter a 5k once I hit my goal. Unfortunately, not long after I reached my goal I tore my calf muscle on a run so I never got to run in a 5k. I’m just now getting back into being able to run again. It’s been so long that it’s like starting over from new, but I’d love to do this race. My husband is Indian and we’ve done Holi powder fights just like what you see in the pics. It’s a lot of fun!
Oh, also I commented on your post about how to approach you if we want to find out if your store can sell our work.

I’m not a big fan of running, to be honest, but I’m forced to run every day. I think the most I’ve ever run is 4 miles, which what we did this morning. One of my former bosses never told us how much we were really running… only that we were running “two miles. Only the first and last mile matter.”
It was about three miles and that was when I was in Air Force ROTC in college(sadly I was removed for being .9 pounds over my weight limit) and in shape….8 years ago. Now..I can run a little shy of half a mile before I want to stop.:-P But I lost like 30 pounds of baby weight being able to do that!
I already “liked” you. Because I do!

The farthest I’ve ever run is only a 5k, in a triathlon though. Does that make it count as farther?

i like you on facebook! my friend and i were talking about running her first 5k ever together. i’m not sure she’ll go for color being thrown on her, but i think the idea is BRILLIANT and hope that it being *free* by winning it will get her to do it! (if not, there are plenty of willing participants…but i especially want to get this friend to do it :)
the furthest i’ve ever run straight was 5 miles 5 years ago before i had my first baby. after i got in such amazing shape, i stopped all form of exercise and got pregnant. i think my body was super excited not to be training anymore that i figured it could take on anything, even having a baby. 2 babies later and i’m ready to get some incentive to try jogging (can’t really call it running if i’m going that slowly) again! this year, the farthest i’ve run is 1/4 of a mile up a street, at which point i injured my knee. sigh.

The furthest I’ve run straight is 1.5 miles in high school! Training myself to run a 5k by end of year or the very least do a run/walk 5k.
