The Parcel Exchange

I’m apart of The Parcel Exchange. It’s 8 ladies, all in different cities – and we send & receive 1 package each month!

I definitely thought my favorite part would be GETTING the packages (hey, I’m bein honest), but it’s totally SENDING the packages that I love the most! Every month has a theme – the first month was summertime, the next was traveling. It’s so awesome being a store owner because I can wander around The Burlap Bag and have a huge amount of items to get inspiration from! My packages will almost always include a pair of earrings I made & some gummy candy

The Parcel Exchange

It’s a surprise as to who is sending you a package, thanks to the mastermind known as Chelsea of Cedar+Pine. Kinda like Secret Santa, but it changes every month? And I’m LOVING IT. We gather $10ish-$20ish worth of goodies/handmade things/recipes/etc and ship it off on the first of every month.

And we’ve already had SO many people ask us how they can join – my instagram blows up every time I post a picture of goodies I’m sending or receiving! Ours is currently full as we want to get to know each other better, and if it’s too massive, it’ll be hard to get to know everyone.

The Parcel Exchange

BUT – – MAKE YOUR OWN PARCEL EXCHANGE GROUP! You know at least ONE person who lives in another city or state, yes? (If no, mmm…. sorry weirdo :) ). Ask them who else they know that lives somewhere else, and then ask that other person who else THEY know, and then that other other person who else THEY know. You’ll come up with a list of 3-8 in no time! Then, send each other cute lil packages! It’s like Christmas but year round – and it totally doesn’t have to break the bank – especially if you’re a craft sort of person!

Hi – I’ve just come upon your idea and have only one question – how did you start it? And how long has it been running?
I think it a great thing and wish you good luck for the future.
    Best regards

Our friend Chelsea started it about 2 months ago – so I’d say you need to have an “organizer” that delegates every month who is sending who a package :).

I absolutely LOVE this idea! My friends and I do something similar, although I am in Europe and they are in the states, so it’s expensive. But it’s great to give each other little bits of where we are :)
